Getting started
How do I put a widget on my site?
Every widget gives you one script tag. Paste it where you want the widget to appear.
It renders inside a shadow root, so your CSS and ours never meet. If you would rather not embed anything, every widget also has a page we host and keep fast — link to it from your navigation instead.
Do my visitors need an account?
No. Voting is remembered by a token in the visitor's own browser, and somebody reporting a bug gets a private link rather than a password. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing for you to administer.
Will it slow my site down?
The embed is about 4.4 KB gzipped, loads asynchronously and renders in a shadow root. It cannot block your page and it cannot fight your stylesheet.
Billing
What does the free plan include?
One widget, of any type, with the Upvoo.io badge at the bottom. Everything else is the same product — the same renderer, the same hosted page, the same embed.
Paying removes the badge and the one-widget limit.
Can I switch between monthly and yearly?
Yes, either direction, whenever you like. Switching to yearly credits what you have already paid for the current month; switching back takes effect when the year runs out.
What happens to my widgets if I cancel?
They stop being served and your content stays where it is. Nothing is deleted when a subscription ends, so starting again later is a payment and not a rebuild.
Troubleshooting
Do you set cookies?
Not on your visitors. The widgets store one opaque token in localStorage, first-party to your own page, recording that this browser has already voted. There are no third-party cookies, no analytics and no trackers — so our widget does not add a consent obligation to your site.
Where is my data stored?
In Ireland, and the application runs on a server in Nuremberg, Germany. Both inside the EEA. The details, including the security measures and every sub-processor, are in our Data Processing Agreement.
